As we write this, the people of Oaxaca are under attack by Mexico's federal
police, army, and paramilitary forces. This is a decisive moment for movements
of resistance everywhere.
More than a dozen Oaxaqueños, and now our friend and compañero
Brad Will from NYC Indymedia, have been murdered in the streets of Oaxaca. People
across the hemisphere are saying Ya Basta!
On Monday, demonstrations were held in over 14 cities across the country. Mexican
consulates were shut down in New York, North Carolina, Indiana, Spain and Brazil.
Graffiti about Oaxaca was found from Boston to Sacramento to Santiago.
To all people in New England: Join us on Thursday, El Dia de los Muertes (Day
of the Dead), for a massive show of solidarity at Boston's Mexican Consulate.
Join us to protest the killings, remember the fallen, and demand that the Mexican
government immediately cease and desist in its invasion and terror against Oaxaca.
Bring noisemakers, banners, and signs expressing solidarity with the people
of Oaxaca.
Spread the word to friends, comrades, neighbors, coworkers, classmates, everyone
you know.
